6 Products that Help Reduce Anxiety

01.07.22 | Kailey | No Comments

If you suffer from anxiety, you are probably no stranger to the world of ‘anxiety relieving’ products.

There’s so much out there that’s marketed toward people with anxiety, with the promise that it’ll make us forget all about the anxious feelings we have and provide a sense of comfort and ease.

But how many of these products are actually the real deal? I know I’ve tried my fair share of things, in desperate search of some relief.

So after some trial and error, I’m here to give you a list of products that I believe can actually, like for real, help you with your anxiety.

Keep in mind, products aren’t a ‘one-size fits all’ kind of thing. There might be something on this list that works for me and won’t work for you. Likewise, there might be a product you love, but I haven’t mentioned on this list. I would love to hear from you in the comments, what is a product that helps you with your anxiety?

As a bonus, I will include links to specific products I suggest if you want to give this a shot.

This post may contain affiliate links, which means I’ll receive a commission if you purchase through my links, at no extra cost to you. Please read full disclosure for more information.

A Weighted Blanket

I know, I know, you have probably heard allllll about weighted blankets, but if you’re still on the fence about trying it out, let me tell you, it is well worth it. I was very skeptical, because I usually don’t like heavy things on me, especially heavy blankets. At night, I can’t even sleep with a comforter because it’s too heavy. BUT, one day I was having an anxiety attack and I decided to use my husband’s weighted blanket just to see if it would help, and it was a total game changer. While it’s not something I would use all the time, having it there for when I’m feeling a wave of bad anxiety is so helpful. The pressure it provides on my body makes me feel more relaxed and safe.

My Recommendation: Nuzzie Weighted Blanket.

These ones are so cute and honestly just kind of aesthetically pleasing, which you don’t see a lot in weighted blankets. In general, weighted blankets can be a bit pricey, but it an investment that is well worth it in the end.

A Journal

Journaling is one of the most beneficial things we can do for our minds. It helps us get everything out on paper, and allow us to sort through our thoughts and emotions. Even if you’re not a person who journals every day, you can still benefit from taking the time to write stuff out when you’re feeling anxious. The most basic journal can every work for this, or even just grab a piece of paper and write out all your thoughts.

If you want something a little more guided, check out my recommendation below of the anxiety journal I am going to soon buy for myself. It is written by therapists, with questions and prompts to guide you through your moments of anxiety.

My Recommendation: The Anti-Anxiety Notebook

An Anti-stress Vitamin/Supplement

Anxiety is fought in the brain, so it can be helpful to give said brain a little extra boost sometimes. Finding a vitamin that helps your brain fight stress, stay calm and balance mood can be extremely beneficial to your anxiety battle. It’s important to be careful when considering supplements/vitamins that advertise they can help you with your mental state, as many won’t do what they say they will. I do, however, have a vitamin that I myself take and have loved, and I also really trust the company.

My Recommendation: Rae Wellness Destress Vitamin

An Alternative to Coffee Jitters

This one is a tough one for me to admit, because I think loving coffee is a part of my identity at this point. BUT I’ll say it- coffee makes me really anxious sometimes. And that’s just science. Coffee makes me feel jittery and a little less in control and that can lead to anxiety, especially if I’m in an intense situation. And while I still love coffee for many reasons, there is an alternative out there that provides the best parts of coffee (focus, energy) without the negative side effects (jitteriness, anxiety, nervous sweats). If you’re willing to part ways with your coffee for a trial run, this is something that can help you prevent some anxiety altogether. After all, part of helping anxiety is preventing it in the first place. This product, MUDWTR, uses organic ingredients to give you a daily boost using only 1/7th of the caffeine and 0% of the bad stuff.

My Recommendation: MUDWTR

Mind Activities

Let’s be honest, sometimes when we’re feeling anxious, all we need is something to distract us from our own minds. I’ve found that one of the best ways to do that is by doing some sort of mental activity or puzzle. This can be an actual puzzle, a coloring book, a crossword puzzle, a game, etc. I do recommend that this be something not on your phone, because our phones are responsible for a lot of anxiety, let’s just be real. I encourage you to disconnect for a bit, and let your mind relax with some mental stimulation. One product I’m really excited to get for myself is this Mindfulness Puzzle Book, which is full of simple puzzles and activities designed to help us calm our minds, and promote relaxation. Also, there’s something so soothing about being an adult and being able to spend time doing what seems like children’s activities.

My Recommendation: The Mindfulness Puzzle Book

A Meditation Guide /Sound Machine/Sunrise Alarm All-in-One

I’m a sucker for a good combination product, and that’s why this one made the list. While this suggestion is for a very specific product, I’m sure you can find other products out there that can do a similar thing, just maybe not all-in-one like this. The Hatch Restore is a sunrise alarm, sound machine, smart light and meditation app all in one. It’s main purpose is to promote a healthy sleep routine, which by itself can aid with anxiety. But on top of that, the meditation app and sound machine can be helpful for that day-time anxiety as well. If you need a little guided self-soothing, this product could really benefit you.

My Recommendation: Hatch Restore

How do you feel about these products? Do you see anything on the list that you want to try out? If there’s something you didn’t see on here, but swear by for anxiety, leave it down in the comments, I’m always looking for more recommendations!

As someone who suffers from anxiety, I know the value of a good product that actually helps like it’s supposed to. Overcoming anxiety is a battle that we fight one day at a time, and hopefully some of these products can help you with that battle.

If you want to take a deeper dive into the world of anxiety relief, I think you’d like this post on avoiding + dealing with anxiety attacks, which you can read here.
