When Will and I decided a few years ago we wanted to be parents one day, we immediately started preparing.
We built a registry and started doing research into all the baby gear we knew we’d one day need.
We’ve even been collecting things little by little.
Some clothes we found on clearance, some blankets we saw at a store we loved, and some baby gear we were able to find good deals on.
And throughout the past few years, I have spent loads of time researching every piece of gear that we would need. I wanted to make sure that we got the best of the best for when the time came.
The best stroller, the best crib, the best carrier.
One thing that has been on our list since the very beginning is an Ergo Baby carrier. So when Ergo Baby sent me their new limited edition Wavy Grey Omni Breeze carrier, I was beyond thrilled.
Now I’ve spent yeeeaaarrs researching what baby carrier I’d want and this one always been at the top of my list.
It had a ton of good reviews, seemed high quality, and checked all the boxes on a variety of criteria, which I’ll go into down below. And after holding this one in my hands, I can tell you I love it even more than I expected.
So, what’s so great about this baby carrier, and should you get one? Let’s get into it.

Why get a baby carrier?
Baby carriers are perfect for exactly what they sound like- carrying babies. But more than that, they are the go-to item if you want to keep your baby close by while still having your hands free.
My favorite thing about a baby carrier is that they allow parents to keep on with their normal lives without having to sacrifice mobility or free hands. Whether you are traveling or cleaning the house or shopping at Target, your baby can be right there with you!
Baby carriers are a pretty common piece of gear nowadays. Every mom I know has one. There are sooo many brands to choose from, but you want to make sure you get a good brand because not all are the same.
How is this baby carrier different from any other carrier?
Most baby carriers have at least one perk- some are ultra comfortable. Some work for Newborn-toddler. Some are made from high quality materials. But it’s hard to find a carrier that combines all the good things into one. BUT Ergobaby seems to do just that.
Here are my favorite things about the Ergobaby Omni Breeze carrier, most of which are unique to this carrier:
- A storage pocket where I can put my phone
- Machine washable
- Comes with a carry pouch to keep it organized and small enough to fit in a purse or diaper bag
- Fits super comfortably, even as a plus-size person
- Has 4 different carry modes
- Comes with a hood you can put up to keep the sun out of your baby’s face or to keep them a little warmer
- Can be used for your baby from newborn- 4ish years old
- Allows for breastfeeding while wearing
- Comes in a ton of different colors (like this super cute Wavy Gray one which is limited edition)
- It’s been deemed ‘Hip Healthy’ by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute, which is important if you have joint, back, or hip issues like I do!
- Like all other Ergobaby carriers, this one comes with a lifetime guarantee, so if something breaks or stops working due to manufacturing error, they will replace it for free!
- You can customize yours with a variety of accessories, like a rain cover, dribble pads, teething pads, and more.
- This thing is comfortable! I think I had this general expectation that a baby carrier would be at least a little uncomfortable or feel somewhat restraining, but that is not the case with this at all. It is comfortable, and feels super supportive.
- Perfect for hot natured people like me! I run hot, pretty much 24/7. So the thought of having something wrapped around me doesn’t seem appealing. But this carrier is so breathable, it keeps me cool waaaay better than I expected.
How is this carrier different from Ergobaby’s other carriers?
The Omni Breeze has a major benefit that you won’t find (as much) in Ergobaby’s other carriers- the breathability. Not to say their other carriers aren’t breathable, but this one is created with breathability at the forefront.
If you run hot or have found other carriers to make you feel sweaty, the Omni Breeze might be exactly what you need!
I run very hot by nature, and even before having a baby of my own, I know I’m going to need a carrier that’s breathable, which is why I am so happy to have this one!
How expensive is the carrier?
I would describe the Ergobaby Omni Breeze carrier (and all Ergobaby carriers) as being in the middle of the baby carrier market as far as pricing goes.
You can certainly get a baby carrier for cheaper (Walmart has some for like $40), but you’re really getting what you’re paying for with those.
But you can also spend waaaaay more on a baby carrier (uhhhh Artipoppe, anyone).
The Ergobaby Omni Breeze is priced in the middle at $199, which I think is a steal for the quality and features this carrier has.
And if you think I’m just saying that, let me tell you that I am the kind of person who has a hard time justifying spending over $100 on anything. But I would buy this one again and again for the quality and comfort of it.
PLUS- I have a discount code for you! Ergobaby was kind enough to give me a code for you guys to use. The code is valid until January 1, 2024 and gets you 15% off, which is a heck of a discount.
Use code Kailey15 at checkout!
Can I use this carrier if I am plus size?
Absolutely! As I mentioned before, this carrier is perfect for people of all sizes, plus size included. I am a plus size gal, and found absolutely no issues using the carrier. It was comfortable, had plenty of room (extra room even), and did not cut into me like I was worried a carrier would.
How long can my baby fit in this carrier?
This carrier is made with babies of all ages and sizes in mind. You can use it from newborn to about 4 years old. And if your babe is pretty little and needs a little bit of a boost, Ergobaby even has a newborn insert you can put into the carrier!
There are certain carry-modes that go with different age groups, so I suggest checking out Ergobaby’s website for more info on that!
Leaning toward the Omni Breeze, but still not sure? I get it. This baby carrier is an investment. BUT it’s an investment worth making.
If you’ve tried out another (cheaper) carrier and been left with back pain, or buckles poking you in the side, or sweaty back after carrying around your baby, then you know that you kind of get what you pay for with baby carriers.
An Ergobaby carrier might be a bit of an investment for you, but one that will be so worth it for you and for your little one. Because hey, their comfort is worth everything, right?
PLUS- I’m giving you a discount code so you can make that investment a little less daunting. Use the code Kailey15 at checkout and get 15% off of the Omni Breeze OR any Ergobaby product! I HIGHLY recommend the Wavy Gray color. It’s super cute AND limited edition. And isn’t it so nice to have exclusive items? 😉
